This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

I remember seeing a video about these companies ripping people off and stuff. It was so cool how they busted one of them as he was on a lockout call staged by a news agency.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

I've seen a report or two on these scumbags here in Chicago. I just hope that these <expletive withheld in accordance with the rules> get the public flogging that they have coming to them.

<walks off grumbling about scam artists>

lol, someone should rig a 'jammed' lock with some sort of taser device:P

They'd probably speil about an electrical conductivity passage tax.

These guys are in my area. There's a full page ad for Dependable Locksmiths in the Yellow Pages. There are several A-1 services listed as well. I'm strongly considering going through every listing and checking for valid addresses. I don't want them in my area, but I don't know how to run them off. I'm thinking of making a list of businesses listed in the Yellow Pages that don't have valid addresses, and giving it to the local news stations/papers along with the link to the BBB and see if any of them bite.

the only drawback with this video is....at the end, they show a AAA person gaining entry and not a locksmith...(imho)

Call them from payphones all over town and send them on goose chases. May not get rid of em but you sure can have some fun ;-) If you really want to be cunning, send them to the address they have listed in the phone directory. Most of the time there is absolutely nothing located at these addresses. Just rural lots in some cases.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!
