I cant reccomend any more highly the value of starting with 2 pins in a lock, build to 3 then so on like when you learn to pick (useing the DB method) this speeds up the learning curve massively,

At least it helped me anyway,

shrub your right, i've done that and moved on, i just think its this lock i have cause i know i can impression many other master padlocks.

one method I tend towards when I am having difficulty getting marks, is after I have applied tension to the blank in the turning direction, and moved it upwards against the pins, is to carry through with that motion, back towards the key removal position.
What I try to do, is with the pins trapped, cause them to press and slide against the little bit of plug they are in contact with, hoping that the pressure through the binding (while turning back) will cause more marking.

It seems to work for me, though it might just be me convincing myself.

Questions (ill never get used to that name lol), ah i see fair enough,

What sometimes happens to me when im practiceing (i need to practice as im not great at it but want to be) is that after quite a few tries of differant methods i was actually bending the pins in the lock and that was what stopped them impressioning properly,

Make sure the key works perfectly, if its gritty you may have the same issue,

thanks shrub, yeah, that questions name is what most my friends call cause on any little subject i get interested in, i get a million questions popping off about it. But with this, i dont want to be like all these people that ask some questions that can be easily read off the stickies and pdf's, so i do my search.

And you my friend are a rareity nowadays but its most apprechiated and it shows in your posts,

I am the exact same, 'hey such and such said that last night' i then have to know the full conversation and where it took place at what time etc etc lol curiocity kills me and how i ever cam here and didnt ask anything i dont know :lol:
