help to unlock Brinks security box model 4035D

Postby safelocked » 30 Jul 2007 19:04

Hi,

I have this box that has the mechanical and electronic key.
The batteries were dead so I removed them. Now that I locked
the box, I cannot open it. The mechanical key is not working
and the electronic part has no battery so it is also not working.
Any suggestions on how to open the box?
I insert the mechanical key and turn it and nothing happens.
I should have bought a mechanical key only safe box.

Thanks for any help.

I'm kinda confused here........ I'm no expert but I think the people who designed your lock box would have thought about dead batteries. Just because the batteries died don't mean the box won't open. I gotta think theres more to the story that we are being told.

This is what I thought. I closed the safe thinking that I still
could use the key to open it. Don't they work in parallel?
Or there are actually 2 locks?

If you see the lock number, it is 028 and matches the key.
I used the key before and it worked, don't know why it is
not working now.

There is no information at all on the internet about this
safe box. Last resort is to break it open and buy a new
one.

If the key is operating the lock then insert the key and turn it to unlock, that key has no other use,

There are ways but they are out of the scope of the public sections im sorry,

A locksmith will be able to get into it for you but as said its likely cheaper to buy a new one,

Dont close things until theyve been tired at least 3 times open, if you remove batteries from the inside of somthing like a safe dont then lock it up,

If you opened it before with just the key then you should be able to do it again,

Look through the instuctions you have with the unit, they will tell you what to do when the batteries go flat (this si the same as when they have been removed) its likely you are doing somthing silly and missing somthing,

Right thats it, thread locked welcome to the site hope you stick around but if you do have a gander at the rules first,

Thanks for holding the fort Jaakko,
Shrub
