Hello, I've been a member for a few years but still super new to lock picking - mainly due to the fact that I never had much time to work on it till the past month or two. I live in Vancouver Washington and am wanting to at least meet a couple people that want to practice with my friend and myself or meet and discuss techniques and so forth - If everyone is wanting to get together for a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly thing I'm always available to learn.
And drop me a message if you're interested in having a learning partner/practicing partner, blah blah blah you can PM me.

I am from Portland and am shocked to see there are so many lockpickers in the area. I am new to lockpicking101, and am new to lockpicking in general. It has always been something I've been interested in learning, but was never something I had the time to learn until now. I come from somewhat of a background in computer security but know little to nothing in the physical security realm. Anyone in Portland feel like taking on a pet newb to show him the ropes?

Hi -
I'm a girl in P-Town who is super new to lock picking but has always been curious to learn (and no, not to do illegal things). I see its' been a few months since anyone posted to this thread, but I thought I'd give it a stab - anyone in my area got tips to share? Also, if there's somewhere local I could buy a good starter set of lock pick tools? I don't have any credit or debit cards (bankruptcy) so it is hard to get stuff online or by catalog for me. ANy input appreaciated....

Hello Northwesterners,
After reading the posts, I can’t determine if there actually is a Portland group. Is there? If so when do you meet? I live in SE Portland. I'm new to lockpicking and would like to meet others with the same interest. (PS is there a Toool group as well?)
Thanks

The issue is no one has taken the initiative to take charge and set a time and a place/host the event.

I'm not willing to just because I'm not that social of a person.

I've recommended in the past latching on to the 2600 meetings at the backspace cafe. The time and days escape me but they're printed in the magazine. I'll set my calendar once I get my new phone.

I go to those occasionally and if someone PMs me on here about 3 weeks in advance I can probably make one.

Wow, old topic.
Also here in the Portland Metro area, easy access to get downtown, would be willing to attend meetups.
Bump for great justice~ :!:
