I moved some posts by him last night before I went to bed and banned him. I may have moved one to the advanced section by mistake. He then came back later under a new name (noticed this afternoon when I logged in). If his post was with the new name in the advanced forums then no I didnt move it there but if it was with his old name then it was possibly just my mistake.
Either way, it is taken care of now and is not something to worry about. It most likely was in the advanced section because myself or a mod moved it there by mistake.
IF you happen to notice spam in the advanced forums again, please drop myself and the moderators a pm so we can sort it out.
Thanks for keeping an eye out on the site. It is appreciated.

i know this is on the list not to ask a mod but is it possible to delete the people who do this because there are lots of people doing this and theyre all coming from different ip addresses not to mention the thousands of members that have never posted....the people who registered just to try and get into the advanced forums and have never been back isnt it a waste of memory to have all those registered members? if they dont have any posts and havent been on in 6 months cant they be deleted

interesting.... well I have numerous of their phone numbers... it's 5:43am at the moment... which one do yuo think will appreciate the phone call right now for the spam in the general chatter section?

Theres no point in spending the time it takes to remove a member, its far easier to simply press the ban button on them and leave the account,
Its nothign to you what the number of members says on the bottom of the screen,
On the ringing members up note ive had this discussion through pm but it boils down to the fact as mentioned above, i certainly dont want to be rung up at any time, if im able to come on this site im on this site, all other times im busy doing somthing called life,
There can not be anything that lasts longer than an hour or so on here until one of us come and see it, we all ask for you to send a pm if you see somthing stuck for a long time but none of us get them so we assume weve not missed anything,
Zeke and myself are the spam busters on this site (the others do a little bit here and there but were the ones with the big numbers) and we like to think were actually on top of it,

I'll field that question...I think you should drunk-dial DB and start ranting about spam. That would be sweet.

I am 100% against spam, but its not really that big of a deal..unless they did really find a way to get into the advanced section, but they didn't. As stated before this is suppose to be an adult maturity level forum and as stated above I believe that the mods and admins are roaming these threads a lot more than could ever be expected. I wonder if some of them do have lives....lol

I know that I am probably not fit to suggest any thing since i have not been a member for that long but is there any way to give those people, like myself, who don't have many posts a kinda credit line & limit where you only can post a certain amount of posts a day, week or month until they have a certain number of posts that qualifies them to be able to post an unlimited amount? or at least limit them to a certain number of posts on different threads so at least it will be easier to clean up if they do spam?
just a suggestion...

Rodfather, im not sure where you go that from but this site is a family orientated site and always has been, hardcore porn being posted up each day is not acceptable,
Muskrat, yes a good idea, one often asked by a lot of us along with a lot of other things we ask, it presently takes me 30 mins to try and view a thread and twice to three times that to actualy post because of site issues but unfortunaley to do anything on here mr picks has to be involved and unfortuntley he doesnt give a shit on how the site is running as long as hes getting his money, can you guess im ready to simply forget about the site and walk away

No disrespect to Mr. Picks but maybe its time this forum moves to a new server and an admin who is willing to do a few php mods (notably anti-spam).

lol I reread it and it does kinda sound like I was saying this was an adult only site......no no I was just saying that to lead up to the point about the mods and admins being on and doing an outstanding job....referring to the reply about there needing to be a call list.
On another forum I frequent, they have a system set up to where you have to fill out a application, and then submit it for approval by the mods. The application is pretty much your basic info.
You can still verify your email addy b4 the mods approve you, but you aren't granted registration until approval.
Would it be possible or even workable to make our system do that?
I do not believe I have ever seen spam on the forum where it is set up like that.
