Hello; I just found your site and signed-up yesterday. Already it's helped me considerably. I'm also 60 and have been taking courses for only 3 month's but cramming. So, maybe there's some other old newbies around too.
Thanks for your site and the opportunity to learn much more, fella's.

If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it. A.E.

Hey everyone! My name is Vito and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. Just getting started in the sport of lockpicking. Eager to learn and share. These forums seem like a great place to do it. I will try and remember to search before posting...less I get flamed to an early death!
Cya around the forums.

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I have been dabbling with a starter set of picks I got about a year ago. Not very good yet but I'm committed to getting better. Some thing I want to learn over the next few months are free-handing a Master 1500 combination lock, and learning how to use tubular picks that I hopefully will be getting soon (as soon as I can afford them)
Hail Eris!

Hey all. I have been signed up for this site for years and check in from time to time to see what's up but had never posted. After messing around in the "Lockpick Village" at Defcon this year, I think I'm going to take this a bit more serious, so I figured I might as well make my first post.
See you around the forums.

Hey everybody, I'm new here obviously. I'm also new to lockpicking, and although I've never actually succeeded in opening a lock, I still like it. I think part of the problem is that I just learned what spool pins are about 10 minutes ago lol
My username is taken from a 1985 slasher movie called The Mutilator, btw. I'm not using lockpicking how Bundy would have lol

Hi everybody. Thought I'd say WASSSSSUP. Lovely site you all have here and is very informative, even for a trained locksmith like myself.
Good stuff!

Hi I'm new too.
But I have a question right off. I run some vending machines in Australia. Lately I have found several of my padlocks disappearing. I was convinced that there are not that many good pickers around and I was led to believe that these locks were pretty hard to pick - mushroom pins etc.
Somebody said that the pickers must have one of those "new mini hydraulic padlock spreaders". I said "what's that?" They didn't know anything else to tell me.
Has anybody heard of such a thing? and what would the correct name be.
I'm hoping that there is nothing like it because I can't think of a solution for my locks.

I just started picking recently, I have always wanted to but never got around to it. Now I have a job where I am around locks and keys so I understand how the work so I have a better knowledge of picking I guess. I am kinda broke so I dont have a set of picks or a grinder to make any picks from hacksaw blades but I have been experimenting with pins and paperclips.
This forum is awesome and has alot of great info to help me along the way.
Thanks

Hello. I'm new to the site and new to the art of lock picking. I started years ago when I was far younger, but got frustrated because I didn't understand what was going on. Now that I am older (hopefully wiser) I have picked it back up. With the help of this site and the great people on it, I have improved my skills, understanding, and abilities 100%. I just hope that I will be able to offer insightful help to other people. Thank you to everyone that makes this such a great forum.
There is a big difference between "can't," "won't," and "shouldn't."

Hi!
I found lockpicking trought a game called Oblivion IV, you had to pick locks in order to enter draws, houses, chests etc stuff. So this is how I got curious about how does it work in real life
Anyhow I picked locks for about 2 months now and it even came usefull twice! 1st my friend lost his bike keys so I had to open that for him and then we lost our storagegage key so that got open too and will do in the future since we didnt buy a new lock to it since I teached my whife to open it as well.
Now Im extenting my studies from pintumblers to other types of locks lets see how that goes
Thank you all already for the help im going to get from you, geh geh ^^
