Im very new to this forum but would like to become an active member. I recently purchased 2 padlocks (pictured below) and after no success in raking open the master lock, i turned to the internet. Thats when i found this forum, and got my first leason on secrurity pins and the theory behind single pin picking.
Today I purchased a lockwood door lock with removeable plug, and pulled out 3 pins leaing only number 1 and 5. when turning the plug clockwise the first bining pin is #5. with light tension i push the pin up and i hear a faint click, and i believe the pin is set as i can push the pin down slightly and it springs back a little as the MIT guide suggests it should.
My problem is when I then try to lift pin #1, it moves freely as if it is not binding at all. other times i can lift #1 but the lock still doesn't turn. I have managed to SPP the lock a few times but I have not found any consistancy in my technique yet. Am i doing something obviously wrong here?
(sorry about the picture quality)
