Apprenticeship Programs?

Postby udanis » 21 Aug 2007 19:20

I'm am interested in getting into locksmith apprenticeship position. A little bio: I'm 17 and I live in the eastern suburban Pittsburgh area. I have been picking locks for about a year now. I have a decent idea of locks (and stuff). Are locksmith apprenticeship programs still common? Do I just call locksmiths in my area and ask about it? Dose anyone have any input on this subject?

Thanks

It's much better to approach a locksmith in person then on phone. And never mention about lockpicking or how much of a kick you get out of it during your conversation with them. It is much better to start a discussion about re-pinning locks, working with high security locks and having a deep understanding of it, master keying and other major aspects of the trade.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture
