question about a tension wrench

I got my new set a few days ago..

In in was a tension wrench, which i believe is called a 'tweezer' tension wrench? or something similar..

Anyways, i was wondering what it was for, as i cant find a lock that it seems to have any use in O_O

Do you mean it looks like tweezers? It's a "wishbone" or double pronged tension wrench. It's very useful for double sided wafer locks.

ahh... ok, i think i get it now.. the idea of it is to remove the little metal holding them together, and the prongs will fill both the top and bottom of the lock?

.. dont believe i thought you were supposed to use it as is

*sigh* i wonder when ill know enough that i stop making these silly mistakes O_O

i just had a mess around with it, and it doesent seem to fit my practise padlocks, BUT with luck im hoping i can get a lift to the store in a couple of days and get some new locks.

Theres no such thing as a stupid question. All of us here know what it is because we read it somewhere or someone told us. It's not instinctive to look at a tool and know what it is and what it's for.

heh.... your right ofc, but still... if i couldent figure out to move a little band of metal, having seen two prong wrenches before, when there not compressed..

ah well.. we all make mistakes i guess
