When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I know I have picture of my work somewhat scattered throughout the site which makes them unorganized. I have created this thread to show sets that have been made for others or myself.
These pictures are not to be used in whole or in part without permission and are only for reference of the work available upon request and inquiry. Please do not duplicate the handles herein, if reference is taken to practice the same technique don't post them, but take the knowledge gained and apply it towards new/better ideas of design. Thank you!
I'll start with the designs I made for myself to show my work:
Zeke79's Set:
Schuyler's Set:
jamesphilhulk2's Set:
vrocco's Set:
This thread will be updated when the work on others' sets or single picks are made.
Thanks!
Kaotik

WOW!
again. WOW!
I need to place an order with you after I'm done placing one with rai for some bogotas.
Excellent work. How do you cut such exact patterns into the handles? and is it two different metals for the pick tang and the handles, or is it a different finishing technique?
My personal favorite is pic 1, number 5... or what I would like to call the "Crop Circles" double ended pick.
Can I ask how you're attaching the handles to the pick tangs? epoxy? rivets? magic? and what metal stock are you using?
heavily impressed,
Squelchtone

If I remember this correctly, he uses some sort of gorilla glue, 2 component epoxy or the like

Skill my young lad, honed through years of a hobby with jewelry repair and making. squelchtone wrote:Is it two different metals for the pick tang and the handles, or is it a different finishing technique?
The entire pick is carbon steel (hacksaw blade) and the handles are cut from aluminum sheet, thickness varies from the type of handle. Normally all the pick handles come with .032 with the exception of the Ripple which has .064. Correct, it is a 2-part Epoxy Resin compound, specified for industrial use in the Autobody field, also known as panel adhesive. It is semi-transparent (clearish) in color and bonds well.
Thanks for the kind words.

I get my inspiration from everything around me, from things outside to things in magazines. I got most of those and some I havent posted that are available from just sitting at my desk sketching out designs.
Thanks for the kind words, i'm flattered. Though, that was what I was wanting to do by starting and posting these designer picks.

Absolutlty terrific.
I own them, and there top quality.
The only thing is, there packed well... so get ready beause even when they get there you have to get them out.. adding to the anticipation
I personally have not used mine, I want to collect works of craftsmenship in here and make a small plexy glass encloser with a few L.E.D's to high light there finish. So far I have made a few, kaotics will be in, and as soon as funds allow, Ray will be getting a PM as well.. I want some friggen bogata's of my own
Really would make an excellent coolection to have near the work bench.

Very cool! Excellent work. You have obviously been doing small metal crafting for a VERY long time. You haven't mentioned prices though.

I really don't know, I don't keep track of how long it takes, I just work on them when I have time to. I suppose I get them done in a reasonable time frame, but you might need to ask some of the buyers how they feel about it. gremner wrote:You haven't mentioned prices though.
I have not nor will I post prices on the board, that is better fit for the B/S/T section and to be discussed in PM. I prefer it that way since there is so many variations and they can be altered in many ways to suit the user.
Eyes, thanks for posting that link.
Thanks for the kind words.

I've edited my original post for having added vrocco's Falle Replica Set that i finished.
It is a bit different than the norm because he wanted to have a rake combined with a hook, something I thought turned out pretty good.
