I would have to agree with Mclellan on that, maybe talk to your parents and if they feel ok about it and like to see you enjoy the sport, they can get you set up nicely.

I would point them to a couple of webpages like this one and let them look around and see that we are not a bunch of dope dealing fiends that steal for a living. Once they get past that idea they may be more willing to get them for you. If that doesn't work start making them yourself or order from somewhere that accepts money orders (you don't have to be 18 to get one around here).

Hmm. I hesitate to offer assistance without your parents' approval. Generally, I like to think parents make decisions based on the best interest of their children.
If they do become interested in talking about the subject, have them come chat with us.
O' gods of the lockpick, let me hear the final *click*

Haha yea, most parents would see this as a weird 'unhealthy' interest, although I have no idea how drugs are connected, lmao. Tell them that you're interested in locksmithing; I mean, locksmiths pick locks, and surely not all locksmiths are drug addicts. Most people just don't see lockpicking as that legitimate of a hobby, you just have to show them otherwise.
Take a file to your parent's keys, just a little. Then their keys won't work, and then you can come to the resque.
.. And in case you just decided to do that, ^ that was a joke.

That's the problem with lockpicking, the negative connotations associated with it. I get around that by saying I'm going for a locksmithing apprenticeship, but as that's not really an option for you, I'd direct your rents to this forum (show them the forum rules, ie no locks that are in use, that you do not own etc.), and print out a copy of the MIT Guide to Lockpicking.
Show them that it's a genuine interest, with technical and mechanical skills involved, not some underground haX0rs club.
As for picks, I find that street-sweeper blades are the best, go down to your local council depot (preferably with your rents) and ask for some of the one's they've taken off the brushes, say it's for a D&T project, they'll usually be pretty generous about it.
If all else fails with your parents, show them this thread, always gives me a laugh.

in all fairness if they say no just do as your told. As they are expressing concerns about your ethics I think ill side with them as they know you better than me or any one on here. Just do as they wish and don't go buying something you have been told you cant have in the house.
