Ummm dumb question.....

If its a high security lock.....
Why does the arrow on the protection level meter
on the top right of the package only go up halfway?

Sorry, I didnt mean to kill the thread....

Was just saying.... Ive got a brinks that the meter is topped out on.
and it has nothing resembling security pins.

you can jiggle a rake and pop it in less than 2 sec.

old yale

Postby raimundo » 12 Oct 2007 8:40

that old yale is probably a five pin no spools, straight ahead easy picking though it may need a drop of oil.

brinks shrouded

Postby raimundo » 16 Dec 2007 10:43

brinks shrouded is the keyway of an american brand padlock, for a long time I have simply made wider tensors from wiper inserts or walkman headbands, but after seeing someone with a paperclip in the bottom of the keyway to help poise the tensor, I made something similiar from a bobby pin (hairpin) one of the type that has a rounded surface on the outside, and it made picking an american even easier.
from now on Im gonna keep such a bobbypin in my kit. It takes up some room at the bottom of the keyway, with the rounded side toward the cylinder wall and prevents the tensor from binding at a slant angle.
