hi guys....
Am a new user here and a noob in lockpicking.... Am now asking all ur help.... I want to unlock one of my briefcases which has some important documents in it.... I wrote down the combination in a diary and its lost now.... Its an American Tourister briefcase.... Pls help me in dis.... Pls... Am attaching below the pic of the lock.......

That style of lock is usually trivial to decode... however, that type of lock bypass is outside of the realm of regular locksport picking -- and, consequently, instructions for that are outside of the realm of what's appropriate for discussion on in public forums. (Sorry!)
While it doesn't directly answer your question, in the worst case, you can cycle through all 1000 combinations and get your documents back while watching a movie... it wouldn't take that long.

call a locksmith, if you cannot prove the breifcase is yours, no one here will help you break in.... sorry its just to protect ourselves from thieves.

Ya know... I'm not trying to sound judgmental here, but I have a heckuva time believing that anyone who uses English as you do has any important documents in any briefcase anywhere.

Well said db. I wont tell you how to decode it, but I will tell you it only takes several minutes to find the code by brute force. Start at 001 then go to 002, 003, 004 etc until you find the combination. Three wheel combinations are pretty easy to find this way. For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. im not getting on anyones side here but, for me, i just type like that when im on the internet, even tho i speak perfect english in real life. maybe hes the same way. just my opionion....

The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

I badly want to help this guy out.... I think I can safely say.... take apart.... a cheap resettable three wheel combination padlock with a dremel....... use winshield wiper spine...... bench grinder.... thin..... flat spot....... offset..... is that too much information?
