I've never picked a Tri-Circle padlock myself but from what I remember from past posts on the subject, those locks may use security drivers to hinder picking attempts.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Yes, Tri-Circle uses alot of spools and that is the number one reason why I would not recommend Tri-Circle as a beginner lock.

I have a couple of tri circle padlocks, they all do have security pins and it is most likely that 262 does also, (though there are tri-circle padlocks which don't). I rake through my padlocks now and again but rarely pick them, It would be worth getting a deadbolt to learn to SPP on it will teach you more of the ability to feel pin sets. To pick a padlock with spools use low tension and maybe try overlifting the pins. good luck

nah stick with it, use slightly heavier tension than normal as there is a spring at the back of the plug. there is also a guide on here (one of the stickies) that shows you have to take pins out.

Tri circ. extra spring

Postby butterboy » 30 Sep 2007 21:22

Yea I found that the one I have has securety pins and the small keyway on the one I have didnt help either .
I dont know,do all tri circs. use spool pins ?
I used that guide to repin a tricircle that I couldnt pick.
I thought it was alot of fun, I did end up with an extra spring and I have to help the shackel up when its picked, I was wondering if theres a way to get that spring back to its right ful place.
If ane one could help that would be very helpful, Thanks
