Harry Houdiini

Postby ObiWonShinobi » 22 Aug 2007 11:58

Harry Houdiini would tape pick to the bottoms of his feet.
No one ever looked there.

He is also said to have slid them into an officers pocket a few
times before being stripped, and then picked their pocket
to get them back after being searched!

I just keep a handcuff key taped to the inner portion of my belt. Came in handy one day when a friend of mine thought he'd be funny....

Cuff Stuff

Postby agb1331 » 10 Oct 2007 18:59

Curious to know how the Officer cuffed you for the challenge.

Having cuffed thousands of people myself, never witnessed an actual escape, a few humorous attempts though.

Hands behind back, thumbs up, palms out. Moderate tightness, right at the wrist crease. Not double locked.

Any links to videos of escapes from this procedure would be very interesting.

I've been reading about HH lately and the book (secrets life of Houdini) said that he didn't generally sticky tape the pick to his foot because that would quite often get searched. One technique he had was holding a key or pick in his hand, saying "check my hair first", then after they did, he would transfer the key to his curly locks (no pun  ) in a brushing motion. What an amazing and sneaky fellow!

Yeah, Ive read both.

Heard he hid it several places on guards though,
not sure about guards hair though.. hehe.

almost sure he used the taped-to-feet method at least once or twice though.

prepositioning

Postby raimundo » 12 Oct 2007 8:49

He might have thought of prepositioning the picks inside the trunk or sack he was going into, these things may have been only lightly searched or pre searched before he puts the picks in. His wife was known to pass keys while kissing.
