How to "Upgrade" (or Break?) your Krptonite Combo

If you do this your wheels will be forever "easily spin-able". But they will still be able to open the lock. This will come in handy if you know a way of decoding the lock, but find it hard to constantly have to move the wheels against the resistance causing mechanism. :)

Also, In the first part of the video when I move the wheels it is not to put them in any type of order. I do this to show that before I apply that method, the wheels have resistance to them when I change the numbers.

Then after I apply the method, there is no longer any resistance on the wheels.

Was that a tweezer tool from a small pocket knife set you hang on your keyring?

So you basically bend the clickers away from the wheels to get them free-spinning?

I assume that is what is happening. Now for the hard part.

Does this allow you to feel out the lock any better than before?

The clickers desensitize your ability to feel whats going on inside the lock. When you disable them you can feel what is going on inside the lock better. You must first move the little button (i don't know what this is called). This puts pressure on the tumblers/wheels. You can then start to understand how the lock works by feeling the tumblers/wheels that the button puts pressure on when you change the combination.

Would this method also work on other types of Master three wheel combo locks? Especially the small luggage locks cos those "clicker" things makes it hard to manipulate it and find the combination. We occasianally get customers who forget their combinations to their locks.

Don't make fun. This upgrade will be essential when combined with my new mechanical tool that brute force attempts ever single combination possible. I have been daydreaming about it for days now and it should be well on its way in no less than 1 week. :) Anyone have any ideas?

Tiny servo motors that move a ratcheted wheel a set distance..
And one that tries to pull on the lock open.

Maybe the coil from a cars powerlocks.
Or a doorbell.

attenuator. I think that is what the motorized thing from the car door that opens and closes the automatic lock is called. awesome idea. and a basic stamp to control everything... What kind of algorithm would you say to test the combination? Like
1 0 0 0
2 0 0 0
3 0 0 0
etc
then

1 1 0 0
1 2 0 0
etc..
Would that go through every combination? I'm kinda guessing it would.... But I always have trouble trouble thinking about that part. This starts to get very complicated.

I've always heard Solenoid.
But I'm from "tiniseey" an arr edjumakation up heer aint dat guud.
So I don't usually spend the time to make sure I spell Solenoid
correctly... I just say "coil"

Id start with:

0000 from the default combo .... might be faster than u think
0001 and work up
0002
0003
0004
etc.

By holding the lock with left hand and using right to reset combo....
(as right handed is majority)
the numbers on the right would be set first....
some lazy people might only set a few numbers....

on second thought... some hotels I know use:
1000
4000
5000

for combo locks (chain on pool gate etc.)
so your idea might be faster....
