Picking lock on apartment room door?

Roommate just moved out of our 4 person on campus apartment so residential life locked his door.

We want to use his room as like a guest room or something. None of us know anything about lockpicking, but it is a deadbolt lock.

Says "Schlage" and "Primus" on the lock.



Thats the lock.

If you guys could direct me to the relevant threads/websites regarding techniques that would be used on this type of lock, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Lock is not in use, and there is no "owner" per se. But if this violates the TOS (which, admittedly, I didn't read), I apologize.

Just because somebody is not using the lock right now does not mean that the lock isn't in use. And the lock does have an owner which is not you. Therefore, even attempting to pick that lock would be against the law.

Besides, with no prior picking knowledge there would be no way you would be able to pick a schlage primus.

I'd guess the "owner" is the campus which locked it. But disregarding that for a second, even WITH prior knowledge and experience you probably won't be picking a Primus. The amount of practice you'd need would undoubtedly take you past graduation, so I guess the entire thing is moot.

You are not going to pure pick a primus lock... There are tricks to doing it but they will not be divulged to a person not in the advanced forums nor for a person trying to pick a lock they do not own to access an area they do not have permission to access.
