Inexpensive drawing compass for pick material

I've found a new material-or source of a material- that's easy to work with yet strong...Cheap compasses like the one below.



Using a saw to cut through the rivet and a file to file down the shape I got this.




Still needs to be finished. Tested in on a couple locks around the house with much success. Now I just need to find something better for my torque wrench.

I love seeing the picks that people come up with from the most unusual things. After sanding, that pick will look pretty good. Is it comfortable to hold?

Yes it's very comfortable. It really sits in my hand nicely. I'll post a final picture once I finish sanding. The compass was like $1.25 or something. I forget. I bought it a while ago and figured this would be a good way to retire it.

I finished sanding. It has a nice shine but it's hard to tell from the picture. If i come across another compass like that I'll probably make another pick from it. Very sturdy yet flexible. It's a very nice pick material
