I don't mean to sound rude or presumptuous, but this sounds kinda suspicious.
First, why is a bike lock on your dresser
If it is on your dresser, wouldn't you need to remember the combo fairly often?
my advice - take a hacksaw to it.

Also, if it is a new lock, shouldn't you still have the combo sheet somewhere?

You can dial all possible combinations.
Do you have any numbers of the combination?
And are you sure the numbers go up to 8 , not 9 ?

Well, I can usually do a similar lock in about 30 minutes. Often, you only have to dial less than half the possible numbers to open the lock. There is another way, but it requires a bit of skill and practice. It involves pulling on the chain/shackle and feeling which wheel binds the most.

Why is it on the dresser?
Why don't you just call the people you got it from and ask them the combo?

yah, they've all been mentioned -
bolt cutters,
hacksaw,
(my addition: oxy-acetaline torch *do not try at home* )
brute force (combination, not lock),
remove handle, and lock with it
my personal fav would be go to people you bought it from, and get the code.
The meaning of life, the universe and everything is 42.
Inflation however, may have changed this. ... edit: yup, its definately 43 now
