thanks m8, gonna start some pickproductions later and some cutaways, mostly thanks to the teacher at the course im going on has his own cnc router and forgetools etc, and im happy he invited me over to do some work , since he´s a beginnig picker, im gonna pass my info to him and he allows me to make varios tools, really nice guy

I will absolutely show the result, tho i´m unable to get in touch with him today as he had canceled todays class, but next weeks a different story. btw, could you possibly send a pm with a small diagram of how your picks are constructed, i do get the sandwiching what i´m unsure about is the way you fasten them, acid core solder or something similar ? Anyways, still trying to find some decent metals to work with, gonna call a company tomorrow and see if its possible to buy directly from them and if so what dimensions i could get on the spring steel.

Gah no edit button what i forgot to say was that the cnc machine isn't a beast, its fairly large, big enough for picks and such , the only thing that i´m wondering about are the bits, because if all goes well milling a larger block of picks, say maybe 1 inch or so from side to side, and then slicing them up, polishing etc might be possible (slicing done using a slitting saw) mass manufacturing might even be possible and with good results. Tho as usual only time will tell, but i will see how far the cnc is able to go later

I could be wrong but I think it's kinda rude to ask a question like that!

Don't get me wrong Cuda, I'm not trying to get down on ya, but think about
all the work he has put into his picks!

Also the fact that he is trying to get a production going himself, could
indicate that he might not be fond of telling you!

Like I said, I could be wrong and we all have our different kinds of view,
seen from a Lockpicking site perspective sure lets share, but business is business!

I am curious to see what LN21 has to say about it,
or anybody else for that matter!

wrench i´m not sitting asking detailed info, im just asking how he gets the pick part to stay sandwiched between the handles , ie if he solders or welds it to place

Well Its a process, intial tacking is done with an idustial bonding agent thats all, gotta keep you guessing mate . but keeping it a strong hold takes one thing surface prep 100%.

It takes time mate, and even before you worry about handels, the right metal with the wrong handel is worthless. Like a peterson gem with a rubber handel.. I would just conver the handel in fiberglass resin and once its cured, sand it and give it a clear coat.. or paint and clear to be fancy.

Its all about what you want to accomplish. you need designs, and prrof to back there worth, or else the outcome will be like SO and all the other comercial companys, although good.. nothing special, maybe a facy handel or metal treament.
