Urmmh... Try your local hardware store - After talking to international lock pickers, it became apparent that these locks were almost as common as the Master #3 locks.
Padlocks, in regards to the cheap-o ones commonly use either one large cap to cover all the pins, or use small plugs to fill each chamber individually. If the padlock you get doesn't have a large cap, then just drill out each plug carefully, and use grub screws to replace them.

Thanks for the great How-To! Two years after you first posted it and it still helps people out! I followed your guide for a Tri-Circle 263. I was having trouble picking it and after opening it up discovered, as anticipated, 2 out of the 6 pins were security pins. That explains all the false sets... At any rate, I re-pinned them in configurations that would help me realize when I am hitting a security pin - and what to do about it. Your guide was a great help! Thanks!

Actually, I do have a question regarding disassembling padlocks.
For some reason, when I took apart my padlock, repined it, and put it back together, the plug will sometimes try to come out of the housing. It seems like I lost the "thing" that holds it in place. What would that be? Why is this happening?

at the beginning of the thread illusion mentions a retaining pin,this may sit in a groove around the plug thus holding it in.
open up your lock and make sure it's still in their and that you haven't put the wrong pin in it's place.

What if I was stupid enough to let the cylinder slide out while doing this?
I've managed to replace the cylinder, but now the shaft won't lock. I have a feeling that one of the two springs which push the locking rod (I haven't the slightest idea what to call it, sorry) has come loose, and is now crushed by the cylinder. I'm just about ready to scrap this thing and get another lock if I can't find a way to fix this soon.
I'd really like to use the lock I have though, if possible. Any ideas on how to fix this?
There is no means by which I can be removed from the love of God. For this, I am indescribably glad.

I guess the easiest thing to do would be to go ahead and try and take out the cylinder. Check the springs, see if there is any damage, and make sure your locking the pieces in place when you re-assemble. :/ Have you figured anything out in the 3 months since your last post?

NEVER take out the cylinder when the shackle is open. It is a real pain trying to get the shackle retaining mechanism reset. Good luck
