Agent 007, perhaps you should try asking "Q," as he is likely to have enough common sense to SEARCH FOR IT. hint hint

If your really having that hard of a time clicking the search button I doubt you'll be able to use a manual pick gun... it's harder to squeeze that trigger than it is to click your mouse button.

Surely, in your hours of research you came across this viewtopic.php?t=164

Now, to me, that guide is rather complete, but obviously you are having some kind of trouble. What kind of lock are you attempting to pick? Have you thought of reducing the number of pins in the lock, and thus learn taking small steps? Have you read the MIT guide as well, even though it gives only a mention of pick guns? The theory of how a lock works is very valuable information. You must not only understand what you are doing, but more importantly, why you are doing it.

N.B. Continuous begging, combined with poor english will tend to turn people off here. You may find you get more useful information when you not only provide us with the information we need to help you, but additionally take a bit of care in your posts.

Thanks Chucklz
Sorry about the typo's, and yes I did read the mit guide . Also read alot of other guides , so I have that basic knowledge of how a look works and what I am surpose to do to pick it.

I am confused about the snap gun its a southord is that a good one?

I am tring to get a pin tumbler regular door lock and the dead bolt.
I also tried to get some pad locks but out of 4 I can only open 1 and its the one I can pick with a allen wrench (as a tension wrench) and a barbie pin .

But please u r a moderator help me out alittle if u have the time it will be GREATLY appreciated.
I plan on opening my own business.
Thanks for the info.

Most any snapgun will be fairly serviceable. I made one out of a bit of coat hanger and was able to open two master padlocks with it. I then abandoned it due to the poor quality of the metal (rather unsuitable for extended use).

What brand of lock and deadbolt? If you live in the US, I would bet it's a Kwikset. Padlocks, I am guessing they are made by Master.

If you want to have some kind of lock related business, one that concentrates on non-automotive lockouts will be extremely limited. Your best bet is to either apprentice with a locksmith, or take a mail order course.

Finally, you should work on your "manual" picking skills. Tension with a pick gun is just as important as with regular picking. Check out Pyro's video for excellent advice on making your own picks, cheaply.

I think the key to learning lockpicking is patience. Work on that, and things will become easier for you. Its not an easy skill to become proficient at, but lots of folks think it is. They are wrong.
