The Open is 300 miles away in another country, across the channel, so it's unlikely that anyone from the UK will be turning up on spec.!
However, we will get something organised in a face-to-face. Honestly. I've been asked at every meet-up to date, but there has always been a conflict between being a working locksmith and being an organiser for a locksport group.
However, as many inside the trade now know, I'm no longer a locksmith as of this evening, as I am moving house to 150 miles away, and going into tool making (to a degree) as well as my new career. Hence, no conflict.

Why is it so hard to find info about it? Is kinda closed group of people or can anyone go? Do you have to register or can you just show up?

If I got it right, the competition is "open" but all the other things are not.

That understanding would be correct. The Open is open to all, but the rest of it is by invitation. I'll be there! Ferry's booked.
Going back to the UK thing, I tried to get 30 identical lever locks off eBay today, but didn't win it. Would have been a great start for the UK - can't not have lever locks represented, can we?
I've got well over 200 locks of various types, ready for getting things going. We just need to work out some logistics, the rules, and a few other things, and we can get a website set up. Oh, and a name! We'll need one of those, too.

Hi, anyone in trhe Notts area wants to meet up Interested in more than picking - raking locks that every man and his dog can do with ease. Yet to have a go at multi lever locks. I used to get into my own house when coming back from school and my mum had forgotten to leave the key but that was 40 years ago. Just tried a lock with what I believe is a security pin in the middle with little success darn it.
If you are interested in using clams to cast patterns then try an alloy of lead tin ( solder) antimoney and bismuth. Using this you can manipulate the melting point down to boiling point. Thi seems a little safer than using high melting point alloys and makes them easy to reclaim and re-melt down.

I'd be interested when I have more time after the New Year.
Have to admit as an incomer that South Devon is the most apathetic county I've ever lived in Maybe I should have chosen Cornwall instead.

I'm over in South Hams, so almost as far away as being in a third county It's definitely a culture shock down here
Originally from Stourbridge up in the Midlands, but lived in several counties in England and worked in even more around the UK. After 6 years I'm getting homesick for real food and women that know how to dress (yep the wife does know )

Well I'm in Hertfordshire, and whilst new to this, I'm keen and would be happy to meet up with anyone who's "fairly" local.
Cheers
Paul
