If you don't like what I say, keep it to yourself. I believe this site is there so we can help each other out by giving knowledge from our experience, he shared an experience he had and described he wasn't a pro, therefore his post was totally correct. Our common hobby is LockPicking not DramaMaking.
What the fu....ck are you reading? I don't have a problem with him sharing it. I have a problem with him writing off other methods as being incorrect. Read before you speak. So if you're not happy with his experience he shared about raking, just make yourself useful and make a guide that is better and stop flamming him.
Soon.

Perhaps you should do the same about his guide on raking?

I forgot a very important piece of text I had initially intended to add to my post. But after reading Beyond's attacks, I didn't want to edit my post because it would look like I was editing it in response to his flames.
Anyways, my post was meant as a possible alternative to single pin picking a lock that failed to open by fast raking.
Obviosuly there are locks open perfectly easy using the zip-rake technique. But for locks that don't, you can try this method before SPP.

My god I don't think I've ran across a bigger peckerhead on this forum. You obviously are not here to help anyone or contribute to making the site better. Why are you here?

I would go easy on him. He has already said he is a kid. Sometimes talking on a forum in the same way you would talk to a group of friends in person comes off as harsher than intended because all of the nuance is lost and because the group of people he might interact with in RL wouldn't see his style of speech as being insulting.
What I find troubling about him though is that instead of acknowledging the way his behavior is coming off here, he gets defensive and attempts to assign blame on anyone that raises th issue.
Hopefully time will show that he becomes a good contributor to this forum.

You sir, are an idiot. It was obvious all the way that he didn't pretend knowing the ultimate truth. All you've done is to flame a new member for the heck of it, you didn't help anyone.

My only problem was that people kept saying I was trying to put you down solely for shits and giggles. Not true. I just wanted you to correct one little thing and you did that. Nothing wrong with your tutorial now.

Oh wow, name calling. I'm 20 and even I have grown past that phase. It was obvious all the way that he didn't pretend knowing the ultimate truth. All you've done is to flame a new member for the heck of it, you didn't help anyone.
That's fine. He didn't have to denounce other methods when pretending not to know any truths along the way, however.
Like I said, read what I typed people. I'm not denouncing his tutorial for the pure sake of putting him down. He had some good points and I've acknowledged that. All I am, or was for that matter, saying is that he could have worded things a bit differently to not give an impression that "fast" raking doesn't have a place in the lockpicking world.

And why didn't you just told him "Hey, that thing is wrong, but the rest is perfectly fine, you should just change that little detail [insert explanation here] and it would be perfect." instead of just flamming him. Saying that someone is wrong but not giving any arguments in order to improve them improve is useless. The problem was not what you had to say, it was the way you said it.

I never said that fast raking didn't have a place.
All I said was that the YouTube vids didn't show technique. They just ripped a lock open and showed you the open lock.
I even said that I have opened locks using fast-raking (what I call "ripping").
I have a Master #5 that I can open in a split second with ripping. I have a Master #3 that won't rip open and for that I can still use a rake as described in my original post.
All that was missing from my post were the words "If ripping doesn't work, try this before SPP".

That's fine, but saying: Raking is very rarely a matter of sticking the rake in the lock with no tension, applying slight tension and then ripping the rake out of the lock as fast as you can while applying a little bit of upwards force.
is my main gripe. You can rake as fast as you possibly can on cheap and wafer locks and opening would be anything BUT rare.

When did I flame him? I've yet to resort to name calling or offensive words. I posted what I believed, and still no one has disputed this, correct information on the subject of raking. He made the intial comments that were out of line and I did not, and still have not, responded back in a similar manner. Saying that someone is wrong but not giving any arguments in order to improve them improve is useless. The problem was not what you had to say, it was the way you said it.
Sorry that I can't hold his hand tell him how to correct his article. I only told him multiple times what was wrong with it and confided that rest was perfectly fine.
You all just need to get a spine and deal with critiques of your ideas. If everyone just went along with what everyone had to say and not dispute the incorrect parts then any tips, tutorials, etc. would have as much validity as the Anarchist's Cookbook.
