Best Latch pick

I have a door which I can see perfectly the latch and am wondering can it be retractid with these latch picks I have seen. I think it may be one of those which locks in place unless the door has been unlocked. I am also a cheapskate in which, I do not want to pay 60.00 to have a lock smith do it when I could spend that much on a nice pick and do it myself. I rather at this time retract the latch, unlock the door and then learn how to pick the lock. Once I have my key made. LOL. Thanks in advace and I did do the search but the info was more on the tumblers than the latch picking itself.

Theres a couple ways and variables
If the angle is pointed towards u, take a ruller, credit card, ect. and just push on it till it retracts.
If its pointed away from you, take a torque wrench, place it behind the angle, and pull it out.

Also good is strong wire, like piano wire, for the 2nd way

If its a deadbolt, then you have to pick it

Thank you. The latch is pointed twards me. I think it may be a deadlatch so that is my worry. I will try it out and see. Thanks again.

what you are asking about is bypass methods this i a lockpicking site so most of the info will be on picking.
to answer your question if you can see the bolt and its pionted towards you then its probaly dead locked because if it isnt it would be very insecure you will have to pick it
