B&Q is the closest hardware shop to me so its where i get my padlocks.
www.diy.com - its b&q's site.

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4451 ... ikeaf7.jpg (Masterlock 3 i think )

http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/5867 ... ikejc1.jpg ( Masterlock 140 i think )

Am i correct ?

Could somebody please go onto www.diy.com - and find me a lock that can be repinable for a reasonable price ( £15 at most )

Oh and..are euro cylinders repinable ?

Thanks alot

If you want to repin a lock to make it tougher to pick, try this first

http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?forceStaticLeftNav=true&action=detail&fh_view=detail&fh_location=//catalog01/en_GB&fh_secondid=9276873

that is called a Rim cylinder, and it has a Yale keyway. With 6 pins you'll be picking it for hours. You can also choose to remove a pin or 2 and get really good picking 3 or 4 pins, then insert another, practice, and then insert the 6th pin stack back in and go for the full monty.

If you really need to have a repinnable padlock.. I believe this kind has a hidden screw in one of the shackle holes, which wll allow you to remove the cylinder from the bottom of the lock. then you can use a plug follower and remove the plug, repin things, and put it back together.

http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9284233&fh_start_index=18&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB&fh_search=padlock&fh_eds=%c3%9f&fh_refview=search&ts=1199322609516&isSearch=true

That lock looks like a Master No. 570
I know because I'm holding one in my hand. The one I have has not been picked yet, and not from the lack of trying. =/

cheers

euros can be re-pinned, its a bit more awkward though as your plug follower will need to be in small sections to slide in where the cam was.
you could cut your euro into 2 separate locks then it would be just like re-pinning a normal cylinder.

DOH !! I was going to mention that rim cylinders (or nightlatch cylinders as B&Q call them  ) are easier to re-pin

Guys here don't buy them from local stores either. They have alot of them on ebay, still not cheap but better than $200 from a locksmith shop.

Yeah I've got a Yale cylinder. I asked one of the guys at my shop if they had a lock to keep me busy and he threw it to me and laughed. I guess I need to start on it tomorrow.
