Okay, by now I am planning to make my pick set (kudos again to you PYRO1234321) but I have a quick question about buying picks:
Any site that I've been to says that [a] they don't ship to general public (i.e. non-locksmiths) [b] they don't ship to minors
So I was just thinking, I'm sure that not every person on this site that has purchased picks fulfills these requirements, so I'm just wondering how you did it?

My advice is to let your parents know about your new hobby, and ask them to order them for you, or to help you make your own.
I can't speak for everyone here, but I don't know if you'll get many replies to a question as to how to circumvent rules that vendors have against shipping lockpicks to minors.
There is a public misconception that everyone who engages in lockpicking as a sport are criminals. As a result we need to be extra careful on these forums to make sure that any advice we give is legal and ethical.

I agree with the others, explain the hobby to them and show them that there is an entire community who do it as a form of challenging puzzle solving.
Learning how to open locks has nothing to do with wanting to be a criminal, nobody says that learning to drive will turn you into a getaway man or that learning to play baseball will make you a mob enforcer that busts kneecaps with a bat. It's just that it wasn't an established hobby in their generation and they need to get educated about it.

Sounds good guys! I told my parents and my dad is gonna show me how to use the grinder and torch (i'm not the shop/construction kinda guy). Oh, and just so you guys don't get the wrong idea, I didn't make that post to ask how to bypass rules, just the opposite actually. I was curious at the time whether you guys new a place that didn't have these rules. But, it's all good now, thanks for the help!

Ok, with that out of the way then... in answer to your original question:
Most people here order from many of the sites you are referring to, and virtually none of them ask for credentials (other than a credit card). This site's sponsor, LockPickShop.com, will sell you picks if you have a credit card. In fact, they'll even give you a 10% discount if you use either LP101 or LSI as a coupon code.
Cheers,
db

if you look closer most sites say that by placing an order you are stating that you are a locksmith and of age. theres no checking of anything. they leave it to you to decide

I'm 16, i'm from Romania. I'm not a professional locksmith and my parents don't know that i am picking. And i bought the C801 slimlines from Southord. They'll ship the picks as a gift, so you shouldn't have problems at the customs.
