The other day I posted a message about proximity cards. Today I received notification of a response to it, and I get this message:

Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum.

I guess that it was moved to the advanced locks section, but that's only a guess. If I'm the original poster, shouldn't I be able to see my thread? I'm not looking for access to that section yet (I don't qualify) but I am curious about what's going on.

I can verify that your post is now in the advanced lock pick tools forum. I read it and looks like pretty advanced information to me.

If memory serves, you mentioned the westhues paper, which is available online and much more besides if you google RFID and various other search terms, It had all been mentioned before about a year or more ago, and the upshot is that if you are interested in information about this stuff, there is a lot of it you can google, and nothing new or interesting coming from anyone on this forum, although, I havent seen your thread this morning yet. I may get to it, but I would be surprised if anyone has anything interesting to add.

You haven't missed anything in that thread. Since you obviously know what you're talking about on the subject and you started the thread, I'm certain someone will PM you any interesting discussion that may happen there...

Once the RF stuff is understood, it's pretty straight forward. As raimundo said, it's not new. I just came across the Westhues implementation and I thought it was pretty cool. The good thing there is that he has full source to his code as well as the verilog, gerbers, etc. to build your own. For those who don't know what we're talking about, here's a youtube clip from a Sacramento news station:

From last year's Blackhat, Adam Laurie gives a good presentation about rdif issues in general, and several links are in Chris Paget's paper, also available from Blackhat.
