When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Hi, I have a question regarding which types of locks the elliptical pick is good for. Or is it more advantagous than the diamond for some locks?

I think you're calling one sided elliptical is commonly refered to as a half ball pick.
I'm not that experienced but I think the half ball pick is used as either personal preference or it might be advantageous for wafer locks.

Ive seen it used on dimple locks too.
don't have one myself.
