When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.
I would think that if you get it too hot and dont quench it, it will make it softer and more bendy if you will...the only real reason i get it hot is so it bends easier and I get to play with my torch then i quench so it doesnt get soft and it gets cooled off instantly
I just thought about it these would make great lever picks except for the round bit on the end. Stiff even after bending and just about the the right thickness.
