Making your own Pickgun

Postby DPTR » 19 Jan 2008 13:32

Howdy folks,

Saw THIS article on InventGeek and am very interested.

Has anyone else seen this (or better yet, made one? :P)? I'll look around for the flosser and if I find one I'll make one and let ya'll know how it goes.

The video shows them picking a basic masterlock in about 5 seconds... which seems just too good to be true with something so simple.

Ideas.. opinions?

(P.S. I thought the e-mail that was sent to him was pretty funny... the fact that someone would get so personal about something like that - like every criminal is going to go out and actually spend the time to make something like this)

It was posted here about a year ago. As I recall they don't last very long before the motor burns up.

they don't work very well either. I built one recently. The stroke of the vibration is so short that you kind of have to single pin pick with it. It's not strong enough to bounce all the pins at once like a commercial one or a manual pick gun. I'd guess the stroke is less than 1/8" and not much power.

It was really hard for me to tell if I was having better luck with it or not as I still had to SPP sort of.

It's like a little suicide pick gun.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture
