Security Pins

Could I buy security pins and put them in one of my deadbolts or should I just go and buy something like a Kwikset UltraMax Security Deadbolt? I figure If i bought the ultramax I could put the security pins in the front of the cylinder for practice seeing how I haven't picked a lock with security pins yet.

i would say just take the pin kit so u can repin alot of kwiksets and have some friends over.

Dont different locks use different size pins(how wide they are)

If so make sure you get a kit that suits most of the locks you have that you want to repin or get a few different kits that are smaller...

Most door locks use pretty much the same width top pins so a universal security pin kit will do.

Nice set but I only need a few pins. would the average locksmith sell just a few pins or can you buy smaller sets?

The average locksmith probably wouldn't sell pins but would probably re-key your cylinder for under $15 if you brought in the lock. This probably isn't much more than a vile of pins would cost you when you consider the shipping.
