First, take your tension wrench, and put it on the desk next to your keyboard. Then take your short hook, and put it next to the wrench. Then with one hand, look through this site for 5 minutes, and you will find everything you need as a beginer.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but you are asking a broad question. I promise you, all that you want to know is a click or two away,
good luck

Reading the many stickies posted on each different forum will help.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Try reading the LSI Guide to Lockpicking.
I just found it earlier this week and it doesn't get much more simple and concise than that guide. Feel free to ask specific questions but you really need to read a good guide or watch some good videos on how to.
If the guides aren't making sense, do a search on youtube or google video for lockpicking tutorials.

The MIT guide is almost certainly what he's whining about. All those shear planes and vectors.

there is an animation on how things work, or on greg millers site, probably some good links from wikipedia too. look for the videos, it should clear up the basics like which end of the tensor to put in the lock.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

Wow, you sound really desperate. I assure you that it is much easier to pick locks when you are calm and relaxed rather than when you are freaking out. Learning the art of lock picking is not a process that happens over night. If you can’t handle that, you may want to find a new pastime.
