I have a Schlage KIK that I have not had any luck picking yet. I want to remove a pin or two and work my way up with it. But, I cant figure out how to get the cylinder out. The instructions that come with it give a diagram of a different style knob. Mine is a round knob and the diagram is for a lever type knob. It says to turn the key 90 degrees and press a button on the side of the knob shaft. There is a flat slot on the side but no apparent button in the slot.
Also, the key only turns one direction in the lock and only turns 90 degrees that direction. Is this normal or do I have a defective lock? I just bought it last weekend and have only attempted picking it for about 15 minutes total. I don't think I did any damage but I guess it's possible.
