What would be the next step

Hi, I think i've got the deadbolt that I brought nailed down, and would like another lock to practice on. There are a coulpe of things I would like in a lock. 1)To beable to pick it ,it has to have a use, not like a saftey deposit box lock, but a house or car lock. 2)Its medium in anti-pick 3) cheap as poss around $20-40 US

Thanks

Master #930, #911, #535, #572, etc etc.

I find them all easy to pick - especially the #911 believe it or not. Out of those, my #572 is the hardest to pick (from the specific locks I've got at least)...

Padlocks: Brinks Shrouded, American 1105, American 5200

Deadbolt: Repin ignoring the MACS and using spools or mushroom drivers.

Wow Vrocco went with an American 5200 padlock. I don't think I would have stepped it up quite that much just yet, but if you're looking for a beatdown challanging pin tumbler lock, jump right on in to the American 5200 spool, serrated and spoorated pin lock.

These locks are awesome in my book, I have picked so many of these i've lost count. But, i'm here to tell you, there's so many still on containers that I couldn't pick either.

Superlight tension, small movements and oh yeah, a helluva lot of paitience. On a good day, I can nail down these locks in about a minute. Granted I also haven't been keeping up in the practice lately, been too involved with America's Army. So my picking time and overall ability to pick has been drastically hampered.

What's nice about these locks, is once you open them, you can remove the retainer screw and drop the core out and repin it or completely swap out cores if you have a lot of extras like I do.

Preferred picks for this lock:
Peterson Reach
Small hook
Deforester Pick

I have to agree with that. It really is a cool padlock for something that is not that expensive. There are many with pinning configurations that I just can't pop.

Again, if you don't want to jump up quite that far, start with a brinks shrouded. It's basically a knockoff of the American 1105.

Good luck!
