When I come across smaller than I like to mess with keyways, i tend to use a small flathead screwdriver to turn the plug after I pick the lock...works good, sometimes not so good
if you get tied up with the tension wrench still in there they can both pop out pretty easy
also you can start chipping off pieces of brass after awhile if you do it to hard.
