euro profile lock size classification

Postby picky1955 » 9 Mar 2008 13:25

When I see so called euro double profile locks advertised, they have a size classification. Like 30.10.30. What do these figures signify? I think it refers to measurements in mm, but in relation to what?

The first number is the length in mm from one end to the start of the bolt, the middle number is the length from one side of the bolt to the other (this will always be 10), and the last length is from there to the other end.

Some manufacturers just give two numbers. In this case each measurement is from one end to the middle of the bolt.

as above really. The cam in the middle is always 10mm. Then you just measure from each side i.e 35 10 45. Sizes go up in 5 mm and upto about 70 or 75mm

EURO DIMS

Postby exspook » 9 Mar 2008 15:58

KEYRING is correct as many manf. give a dimension of 30/30 which relates to the dimensions from the centre fixing screx of the Euro cylinder.

When ordering it is essential that you get the correct dimensions as most UPVC locks are offset, and having excessive cylinder protruding from the door can lead to vulnerabilities. :D
