Buy windshield wipers? Buy?? JUst go to nearest auto repair shop and ask for used ones Or go into the nearest junkyard and ask from there. I have scrouged those blades from my neighbours by asking and all the relatives and from the trash bin at the gas station. I think that I have something like a 60-70 wiper blades around

Off topic a little, do people really change their windshield wipers or inserts that much? Personally, I've never changed my inserts.. ever.

No, people don't change there wipers that much, but there is always some who have not changed them in a good while, so it makes the chance of finding them very good.

If anybody needs bristles...I have a ton. Chicago street sweepers leave bristles throughout the city all the time. PM me if you need some.

Thanks for providing this guide, it really helped clear some things up. I'll still be sending my order to rai for the real thing, but I decided try making a bogota rake myself today. I used a Dremel for most of it, then some handfiles to round it out. I've done some sanding but am not nearly finished with that aspect. So far I'm very impressed with the effectiveness of this design. Anyhow, here's a picture:

Hey, your first try looks great to me. I would definitely order a pair from Raimundo as you said you planned on doing. I have made a few pair myself but they do not compare to his. Good Job!

i just experimented with one made from a windshield wiper insert. it worked pretty well. it helped me open up my medeco pretty fast. and it helped on a couple of bests i have.

Are there any Bogota templates out there? If somebody were willing to scan their Bogota rake and send it to me(the scan, not the rake ) , I could work it over in a vector art program and post it up here.

Just take a street sweeper bristle or wind shield wiper blade and biggest chainsaw file you can find and it is the right dimension Really, it isn't rocket science and anything close to it works. The key here is the sanding, rounding and finishing polish.

Here's my attempt at one. Done with power tools though. It works well but I still love using the ones I got from Raimundo. They are top quality!

they are well finished, Is that wiper stiffener? if so, its width may allow for some fancy tapered tensors or stepped tensors.
