What are the master padlocks with 'rust proof coating' model#s are they different than regular or are they like a #3 with rust proof on them. if you dont know which ones i mean they are the ones with a grey with black splatter looking paint stuff on them.

I have one of these. I was wondering this before as well. I have a Master Number 5 and it seems different than my 'rust proof coated' lock. It could just be my imagination or something, but I found that my 'rust proof coated' was always easy while my Number 5 was quite a bit harder. I have heard that the Number 3 and the Number 5 were supposed to be the same cylinder. I think the chassis are supposed to be the same, though I don't know for certain if the cylinders are the same. I am a bit curious about this. Anyone else with more knowledge of this know for certain?

Most MasterLock's do that. Nothing to worry about.
