I am going to show you how to easily make an electric pick gun using readily available parts and tools!

You will need:
A Black and Decker rechargable Power Scissor (Available from Ebay for about $15
Material to make a pick from (I used bandsaw blade but hacksaw blade or anything else will work equally well)
2 3mm bolts 10mm long (With nuts and washers)
A grinder, either bench or Dremel style
A drill and a 3.5mm drill bit
Ok, when you first get your Black and Decker Scissor it will look like this:

Remove the scissor head by depressing the two buttons on the side and pulling away from the scissor. It should come away easily.
Take the scissor head apart, you will need a small phillips head screwdriver to do this.
The pieces inside will look like this:

Take the bottom half of the scissor. This piece:

Using your grinder, make it look more like this:

Now go to work on the moving jaw of the scissors, you will need to cut a slot in it, this will not be very easy as the material is VERY hard indeed, I would probably have liked to drill holes, but it would have made it harder to marry up the pick blade. It should look like this when you're done:

Now you need to make the pick, this can be made from any material as I stated earlier on. I used bandsaw blade and it polished up lovely. You should be able to make an accurate copy of my pick using this picture:

Now assemble your pick onto the moving blade of the scissors using your two 10mm long 3mm bolts, washers and nuts, like this:

And here's a view from the other side:

Now begin the re-assembly of the cutting head, the first part to go on is the cut down stationary blade, it is essential as it acts asa spacer for the moving blade, it fits back into the cutting head like this:

Now refit the moving blade with the pick attached, it goes in like this:

The cutting head may now be re-assembled using the two screws, make sure you get the spring back into place correctly on the pin. It will look like this when re-assembled:

And that's it, your very own Black and Decker Power Scissor electric lock pick, hope you like it!

Cheers
Paul
