I've lost my touch but it normally only last for a day. I can often just build back up by picking some easier locks first.

happens to everyone i do believe.

lockpicking is a skill that's similar to the muscles in your body. If you workout and get huge, then stop, your muscles will shrink.

Coffee is NOT a friend to lock pickers!

I have to pick quite a few Master M-27's, they are small keyway locks and we use them on our computer systems. And the users lose their keys with disgusting regularity.

No way you can pick those things with coffee in your system (shake, rattle & roll!)

Stick to decaf if you're picking. :)

I am also agree with you. Lockpicking skill is like riding a bike to learn more you have to ride more because practise makes a man perfect.

Well, it was a bit different for me. Before when I first started lock picking last year (thanks to WhiteHat for selling the picks ^^) but then I stopped. I only recently started picking locks again (about 5 days ago) and I feel great! Before I could barely pick a wafer lock (old filing cabinet) but now I can pick 5 pins', padlocks and so on.
It makes me feel great that I can do something pretty good after practicing for about 5 days (with an 8 month gap in between)

(Darn you, sig!) :x
