Hi guys!
I'm unsure how many of you guys I've met before either on Youtube or other various forums. Either way, Hi! ^^;;
Basically I wanted to share with you all my personal vlogs on lock picking. Now don't get excited. I'm not a pro or anything. Just a raker really at the minute. I can SPP but to be honest with you i prefer the rake. No need for stealth in my world since I have no intention of doing this in any real underhanded way haha. I understand the art of SPP but I just get more satisfaction from raking a lock into submission!
My Youtube video's are found at http://www.youtube.com/ModeraDour and are more for entertainment than critique. I welcome constructive criticism and comments explaining anything I may have been misinformed about.
I've created 15 or so video's now and intend on continuing on with the hobby for a long time yet. I always monologue the importance of partaking in the hobby on a Legal level only and try to drill that into my watchers/subscribers.
So yeah... I hope you like and leave me comments expressing so. If you like them on any level, subscribe and be assured they will only improve and grow. I have intentions of developing more humor into my vids, including the bloopers/mistakes.
Have fun, stay safe and cya round!
Kaotik Edit: Changed subject title for better search results.

Ha! i was wondering if that would ever get asked. Monty was a present I recieved along with a nice Lockwood 234C45 Padlock and a big red toolbox from my girlfriend. The latter two gifts i found instant use for. Padlock and toolbox are easily used. But I had no idea what she expected of my in terms of the plushie soi just chuck him in my vids now to keep her happy and add some female views on my vids haha.
Squelchtone, Im not sure what your talking about. Doors in use? I dont understand.

Havent watched your vids YET but he is more than likely talking about locks that are on doors that you use i.e. front, back, side door. Never pick locks that are in use...

In the imbedded clip in your youtube profile, it looks like the lock you picked is mounted on a door that is being used.
It is a rule on LP101 that we don't pick locks that are in use. Only cylinders, unused padlocks, or locks mounted onto practice boards and the like.
At any rate, i don't understand your view that raking is more satisfying than single-pin picking.
IMO when you open a lock using a technique like SPP where you know what's going on in the lock at all times beats raking the heck out of it, (or 'into submission' in your case) satisfaction wise, anyway.
And as for the ' stealth and underhanded way' comment, LP101 is first and foremost a hobbyist site, where improving your skills are what's encouraged, not any 'underhanded' teachings. Some people could reeally take offence to your comment there...
Anyway, that said, don't let me discourage you, just remember the rules, and we'll get along fine. Welcome to LockPicking101.com

Yes, you're right about picking locks in use.
Yes, he is using locks attached to doors.
No, he isn't using locks that he relies on.
The locks are attached to doors, but it looks like he's gone through some skips and has sawed off the parts of the door with the locks attached. I dunno about you, but I don't really have a problem with this - Personally I'd get them all on a single board for the sake of simplicity, but, whatever rocks your boat i guess.
To the OP: Your technique works well, and you seem to have a good grasp of bouncing the tension whilst scrubbing. This works really well on a lot of locks, but fails quite awfully when you start picking harder locks. I'd suggest you learn how to single-pin-pick since you'll have to learn later on anyway. Nice work though - it's cool to see tension control going on.
I did find myself dancing to the music, until my missus threw a pillow at me and said I looked silly.
My girlfriend liked Monty, so I guessed you scored an extra view on your video there lol.

Yeah, the locks in videos number 15 & 16 are door locks, but they are NOT in use. They were in fact chainsawed off my a most useful friend of mine. Useful how? Because he works in Demolishion. He gets contracted to tear places down. People who dont want these places obviously dont care what happens to the locks on their doors, because without me, the two locks you witness getting embarrassed by my camel rake in #15 and #16 would just end up on a scrap pile somewhere, unused, unwanted, unpicked.
I would never pick a lock thats in use now that I know of your rules. I admit my video #12 is in fact a door in use. (My parents front security door >>) But now that I'm more aware of your rules you wont see me doing that again. Oh and #10 was my work locker... :/ Wow, I've been bad.
Now, the comment at the end of my videos... my "Sign off" if you will. Long story short, whenever someone tells me something absolutely useless like "I want a donut" or "I'm gonna go to the shops on Saturday" I tell them jokingly that if they can dream it, they can do it. So yeah, in my world, its not so much a motivator so much as a put down haha. Its all interpretational! ^^;;
But yeah, I'm glad you guys liked the vids. Recently added a new one with me scrubbing a Lockwood 301/63 open in about 1.5seconds haha.

Enjoy.

Don't think of it as a "rule", exactly. Think of it as a very wise and helpful suggestion that we tend to make around here to help you keep yourself out of trouble and headaches.
