Broken Lock?

Postby Rockebella » 3 Apr 2008 15:42

Ok, I'm new to lock picking, so I don't know to much about it. I have this Master Lock (I think its a No.1) and when I stick the pick in I feel lots of pins, but all I haft to do to open it is push up this 1 pin in the very back. So, is it suppost to have pins that just stay down or what?

Is it an older lock? I have a deadbolt like that, and it has four pins that are stuck up above the shear line, so only one pin even works.

Ok, I did a lil' more feeling around and from the looks of things the one pin in the very front that has no funtion wont stay up at all, the next 2 after it seem like they are already set to turn and if I move them up I'd haft to restart, and then there's a gap, and after that there is the 4th pin that is pretty much the only one I haft to aline. I think that its kinna weird....

Newbpika is right about the 130 having security pins, but I have one with the same problem you are talking about Rockebella. It seems I only have to set the second pin, or I can set the first, third, fourth, then second pin to open. Just get a different lock to practice on. Masterlock 1, 3, and 5 are all good beginner locks. Although I hear 5 is tougher for some...
