Postby BorisBorisBoris » 5 Apr 2008 22:03

Hey everyone, newb here.

I bought this desk from ikea in the as-is, it was there becasue the two drawers are locked, and they won't give me the key unless I buy the complete package, saved 70$ but now I don't have the key

So how do I pick this lock or get about opening it?

Here is a pick, the diagram in the store had a key that looks like this

It's a simple key that likely requires no special cutting. Ask your local locksmith, they might have a key that will fit it. Take that picture to them and see what they can do for you. Not likely to cost more than $2 or $3 for a key if they have one.

You can also try looking online for "furniture lock keys". You'll get lots of results.

and by locksmith, vitti does not mean Home Depot. Find a real locksmith in your area; one with a shop you can walk in and visit.
