Does anyone know offhand if this lock is possible to disassemble? Or just have any tips on how to pick it? I know it has security pins and I'm still just learning (second day)

The lock can be disassembled, but it's not going to be pretty. It involves things like cutting open the lock and so on and so forth. If you are determined though there is a guide in a sticky.

I did a quick google search and it doesn't look like (correct me if i'm wrong) that there are any security pins in that. All i can advise as far as tips for picking, alternate your tension and practice practice practice.

it's pretty much self contained, you couldtry the bbq method but there really is nothing to be learned from breaking this lock apart beyond the tase of bras shavings

It's not made to be unassembled to be re-keyed. So like robotmaxtron said, if you want to take it apart, it aint going back together. I personally found that trashing a few locks to see their innards was helpful in learning how they work. This site provides you with all you would need to know about the inner workings of locks, but first hand physical experience is essential. That being said, if you can buy another lock of the same model, then crack it open and see whats inside.

p.s. Picking takes practice, two days isn't gonna do it. Be patient and practice. I would also suggest getting a Kwikset or its equivalent lock that you can disassemble. Then you can start with one or two pins to get the feel. Good luck ;)

Hehe thanks for the replies guys, I know it hasn't been a lot of time, I don't expect to be able to pick it right away. However, I am eager to learn, this is the most fun hobby I've had to date lol, I read on someone else's post that the 160 had 5 pins and security pins so I was just going off of that. If you've read that they don't have security pins then that may be helpful to my cause. I'll give up my ventures on taking it apart if I won't be able to get it back together.

Thanks again everyone!
