BBB warning

This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

BBB warning

Postby nylocksmith » 22 Apr 2008 3:13

Has anyone seen the BBB warning as for "reliable locksmith" in Brooklyn and some other places?
many people visiting my site which serves also the New York area ask if we are connected to them in any way, well- WE DON'T :!: :!: :!:
Those guys ruined the reputation of so many locksmiths...

Agreed: I find it odd that people would read a BBB warning for a company called "Reliable Locksmith" and then call up a company named "Paragon Security" to ask if they're the same folks. I'd avoid any customers who appear so easily confused.

What does this have to do with local Locksport groups? :)

Seems "spammy" to me. :)

Hotlink to member's personal site removed. Please, if your intention here is nothing more than to promote your website:

a) Why? 90% of the regular members here will likely never call a locksmith themselves.

b) Please respect the rules of this site and find a link exchange site somewhere for your promotions... or pay for it like other people do.

Thanks,

db

We should lock this post. This guy is clearly just a self-promoter.

Well, I left it open to give him a chance to respond. I think he should have that opportunity.

Why does a Whois search reveal the name of an Israeli person who happens to be associated with the locksmith scammers criss crossing the nation?

I am not suggesting that you are a scammer, but it is coincedental.

I read with interest lately about Google refining their search algorithms to detect sites that have multiple generic pages. This should help to mitigate the prowess that these scammer sites have achieved to date.

Specifically they are targeting sites that effectively copy identical information to each other.

The scammers days are numbered.

The BBB has been hot on the topic since the number of complaints in NYC alone topped 500 last year, compared with just 25 complaints 3 years ago. (this was just for locksmiths)
