Cylinder multi-tool re-cap

Postby panalman » 1 May 2008 11:55

With regards to the post on a cylinder multi tool which is now locked the orginal poster stated he had done a short course and wanted to know how this tool is used well it must have been short if this was not demostrated and I would love to know what was covered.

The tool in question is used for measuring euro cylinders and for checking the operation of multipoint locking operations as the tool duplicates the cam of a euro cylinder.

When drilling is used to gain entry to this type of lock the tool plays no part in the opening operation however is does if another well know destructive method is used .

This should now be a little bit clearer.
There is always a solution to a problem and a way in without destruction !!!!!

If i understand this right, it's about these tools, wich are standard in every builders toolbox.

I can't imagine something advanced about these.

Why would a builder require this tool? Although I have this tool being refered to as a builders key!! A locksmith yes and a UPVC installer yes but not a builder!!

Drilling cylinders is not rocket science but more to the point this tool plays no part in that at all so the thread should have been edited rather than being locked as it may give some people the wrong idea....

Why would a builder require this tool?

When the doors are placed at a project, most times there are no handles and cilinders fitted immidiatley, but a lot of people are still at work around the place.

After you've locked yourself in or out a couple of times, you'll learn to have it in your pocket all day.
