MIWA U-9 LOCK

Hiya all and greetings from the Far East. So, I wanted to begin my lock picking skills using wafer locks, and since about 1/2 the locks in japan are these type, I went out and purchased a Miwa for practice. Little did I know that it's the new U-9 type.... it's a real pain.

My question is: If I am trying to pick this lock and have a key for it to use for comparison, shouldn't it make the picking a WHOLE lot easier since I can look at the grooves/cuts in the key?

Additionally, I read a post from a couple years ago concerning the difficulty in picking the U-9. Any new info?

I don't know anything about Miwa locks but yes, generally when you have the key it will make picking easier. It gives you an idea of what to feel for in what spot.

Miwa U9 is not a wafer lock. It's more like an Ingersoll lever/sidebar lock. There are previous posts on this topic. Any discussion of picking this lock should not be in the public forum since it's a high security lock. There's a write-up in my book (click my signature).
