Just throwing it out there, but...sidebar pressure holding previously set pins up because of tolerance errors. I'll put it another way: is the sidebar outwardly sprung (Assa, Medeco, Primus, etc.. style) or inwardly sprung (GM-auto-style)? Even if inwardly sprung, there are no sidepin/sidewafer springs to overpower the sidebar springs (i.e: The GM Problem (tm) ).
I tried to Ebay a CX-5 cutaway the other day (outbid while at work) because I haven't played with them yet
