For DIY'ers with bigger ambitions than machine shops.

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Check this out. Design something using CAD (online version available) and then pay for it, and you get your part in the mail. Definately useful for those of us lacking in tools, but rich in ideas.

The price decreases rather dramatically if you order more than one piece. Seems like another good reason to get a bunch of lp101'ers together.

thats a EXELLENT idea:idea:!!!!! :D

can someone or a vote to see if we should consider this?
maybe, people can make an order of how many they want and wat style they want. first, off to consideration is the perfect design. and run some samples like 10 of each design. then, someone test them to use them to see if they are perfect for picking or could use some alterations. then take orders. record these orders on a Exel Sheet to keep orders and prices organized.

sounds like an idea to me :D but first a vote to consider it.

Did you mean: "Thats an EXCELLENT idea  !!!!!

Sorry, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to do a little razzing. :P

As for getting a bunch of people together, well the issue with prices is that based on what they have there, 100 units of a laser cut 5" x 5/16" x .025" piece made from stainless steel would most likely be about $1.50 per unit.

Keep in mind that would be an unhandled lock pick.

Additionally I believe that would be for a single pattern. Having not contacted them, I have to say I am guessing based upon their web site.

If on the other hand, they were able to do multiple shapes in a single pass, it might be something interesting to look into.

Also, bear in mind that I am talking about lock picks, and not stamped or formed shapes such as the parts for a lock pick gun, or a plug spinner.

It could be interesting though. :D

I have plans from mbell for a set of jiggler keys for 3 lever locks. I was thinking of seeing about the cost for such a set, and volume discounts etc.

I'll have a bit of free time over the next few weeks so I'm thinking of making scale drawings of most of my picks for reference and making picks from. I will be putting them up on my new site.

Just a quick question then - Would people like me to do this?

Of course we would like you to make scale drawings of your picks.

I am currently in the process of making scale drawings of normal picks. I hope to have several of them done quite soon.

I look forward to seeing yours as well.
